Severed Ties is the debut album by Brisbane band, The Amity Affliction. It was released on 4 October 2008 through Boomtown Records. Severed Ties debuted at #26 on the ARIA Top 50 Albums Chart, and #6 on the Australian Artists Albums Chart.

  • "Poison Pen Letters" is the title of a track from the demo compilation State of Affairs
  • Several tracks on the album contain sound clips from several movies, due to to copyright restrictions the label was forced to remove them, however on the first few thousand copies printed they still remain.
  • Track 1 "I Heart Roberts'" contains a sound sample from the film Hot Rod.
  • Track 2 "B.D.K.I.A.F." is an abbreviation for "Big Dick Know It All Fuck", which is an inside joke of the band.
  • Track 4 "Do You Party?" is a reference to a joke in the film Hot Rod.
  • Track 9 "The Blair Snitch Project" contains a sound sample from the film True Romance in the intro.
  • Track 11 "Stairway to Hell" contains a sound sample from the film Hot Rod and Happy Gilmore.
